Selected in the 2018 draft, but opting for college, Morrill arrived in Stillwater and immediately made an impact as a true freshman hoisting up a .282/.390/.396 line with 12 SB earning All-Conference and All-Freshman Team accolades. Hueston followed up this campaign by starting all games as a sophomore and showcasing his potential for bat speed, consistent hard contact, and balance to repeatedly barrel up the ball to all fields. As a Junior, he started 34 games at SS, led the team in steals, and even debuted on the mound as he whiffed the school rivals.
Morrill, a true gem for any team, has experience all over the diamond (SS, 2B, 1B, 3B, C, OF, RHP). While in the field, Huey demonstrates intriguing upside with his versatility, range, athleticism, and a quick release with a rocket arm capable of making tough, off-balance throws across the diamond. He is an emerging collegiate 2-way player who flashes a FB that touches high 90’s and a wipeout SL as evidenced by a 1.40 career HS ERA, not to mention a 1.9 pop time as C. His determination, competitiveness, and versatility are on full display every game.
